Mark Anthony Sosa doesn’t recall spending much time with babysitters as a kid. After school or during summer breaks, Sosa would join his father and workers at a job site instead.“I learned just by working alongside him and his workers,” Sosa recalled. “Just doing it. Those were my babysitters.”
Today, he has followed in his father’s footsteps and operates a general contracting business specializing in roofing, although he adds, “We do pretty much everything.”
That includes residential and commercial roofing — metal, shingle, TPO, acrylic coating — with numerous examples of his projects available for viewing. “We’ve even done remodels” he said. “We have assisted with lots of insurance claims, assessing water damage and fire damage, all kinds of things.”
Sosa worked for his dad’s company for 20 years before starting his own and notes that once in a while his father’s company subcontracts for him. He draws inspiration, he said, from “making customers happy at the end of a job. Some contractors never quite do the job they said they were going to do. Our customers see everything we did, just as we said we would do it.”
As one customer put it in a signed testimonial online, Sosa “was very professional and courteous and came and met with me personally after they were finished to make sure I was satisfied with it. He uses top-notch supplies and is very fair on the price.” In turn, that commitment to service and quality work nourishes a new generation of contractors, following his example.
